Installation and Technical Tips
Prevent Fluid Loss: Use a brake pedal depressor or a small piece of plastic under the master cylinder cap to create a vacuum. This minimizes fluid drainage while the lines are disconnected, making the bleeding process faster.
Replace Crush Washers: Always use the new copper washers provided. The soft copper "crushes" into the imperfections of the banjo bolt and caliper to create a high-pressure seal. Reusing old washers is the most common cause of leaks.
Flare Nut Caution: Hard brake lines often become seized due to road salt and age. Always use a flare nut wrench (line wrench) rather than a standard open-end wrench to avoid rounding off the fitting on the chassis side.
System Bleeding: After installation, a full brake bleed is required to remove air from the lines. Air is compressible, and even a small bubble will result in poor braking performance.
Check your fluid level frequently during this process to avoid sucking air into the master cylinder
