Installation and Maintenance Tips
Sensor Transfer: Carefully remove the low oil level sensor from your original pan and inspect the O-ring. It is highly recommended to install a new sensor O-ring to prevent leaks at the port.
Surface Preparation: Ensure the engine block mounting surface is completely free of old gasket material and oil residue. Use a plastic scraper and brake cleaner for a clean mating surface.
Torque Sequence: To prevent the steel flange from warping, tighten the mounting bolts in a "star" or "criss-cross" pattern to the factory-recommended torque (typically 10–12 lb-ft for this engine).
Leak Testing: After installation and filling with fresh 5W-30 oil, run the engine for several minutes and inspect the perimeter of the pan and the drain plug for any signs of seepage.
