Installation and Technical Tips

• Preparation: Use the included brake cleaner to remove the protective oil film from the new rotors. Failure to clean the rotors will contaminate the new pads and lead to poor braking performance.

• Wheel Clearance: For Mercury Cougar owners, verify your vehicle uses 15-inch wheels. This rotor diameter is specific to that wheel size and will not fit models equipped with the larger 16-inch or 17-inch performance wheels.

• Fluid Maintenance: Since this kit includes DOT 3 & 4 fluid, perform a full brake bleed. Removing air bubbles and old, moisture-heavy fluid is essential for maintaining the high boiling point required for safe stopping.

• Bedding Procedure: To prevent "glazing" the pads, perform a series of 5 to 10 moderate stops from 30 mph to 5 mph. Allow the brakes to cool for a few minutes between stops to properly transfer a layer of friction material to the rotor surface.
