Installation and Technical Tips
The "Ride Height" Rule: This is the most critical aspect of the installation. Do not perform the final tightening of the bushing bolts while the car is in the air. Lower the vehicle onto its wheels or ramps so the suspension is at its natural "ride height" before torquing the bolts. Tightening them while the suspension is hanging will tear the new rubber bushings almost immediately.
Professional Alignment: Because these arms directly control the rear wheel's position relative to the chassis, a professional 4-wheel alignment is required after installation to ensure the tires track straight and do not wear prematurely.
Eccentric Bolt Inspection: Often, the bolts holding these arms can become "frozen" or rusted inside the metal sleeve of the old bushing. It is recommended to have penetrating oil on hand, and in some cases, new eccentric adjustment bolts may be required if the originals are seized.
Full Link Inspection: Since the Mercedes rear suspension uses five different links per side, it is common practice to inspect the Rear Upper Rearward and Lower Control Arms simultaneously to ensure a complete suspension refresh.
