Installation and Technical Tips

  • Seized Hardware: Rear suspension bolts on these platforms are notoriously prone to rust and may become seized inside the metal sleeves of the old bushings. It is highly recommended to apply a high-quality penetrating oil to all mounting bolts 24 hours prior to starting the installation.

  • The "Neutral" Tightening Rule: To prevent premature bushing failure, do not perform the final tightening of the mounting bolts while the vehicle is in the air. Lower the vehicle onto its wheels or use a jack to compress the suspension to its normal "ride height" before torquing the bolts. This ensures the rubber bushings are not pre-stressed.

  • Mark Alignment Cams: If your vehicle uses eccentric cam bolts for alignment on the lateral links, mark their position before removal. While this will not replace a professional alignment, it will help you maintain enough tracking accuracy to safely drive the vehicle to an alignment shop.

  • Professional Alignment Mandatory: Because these components directly control your rear "toe" and "camber" settings, a professional four-wheel alignment is required immediately after installation to ensure vehicle safety and prevent rapid tire wear.
