Installation and Technical Tips
Diagnostic Reset: After installation, it is common for the vehicle to require a "Basic Settings" recalibration using a diagnostic tool (such as VCDS or a high-end OBDII scanner). This tells the computer the "Zero" point of the new sensors.
Linkage Geometry: Pay close attention to the orientation of the linkage arm during removal. If the arm is installed facing the wrong direction (flipped), the sensor will report the opposite of the actual suspension travel, leading to immediate system errors.
Harness Inspection: Before plugging in the new units, inspect the vehicle-side wiring harness for "green crusties" (corrosion). Use electronic contact cleaner to ensure a perfect data connection.
Suspension Load: Ensure the vehicle is on a level surface when performing the final check. If the suspension is heavily loaded or uneven during the first power-up, the headlight leveling system may store a fault code.
