Installation and Technical Tips

Professional Alignment: Suspension geometry is significantly altered when replacing control arms. A professional four-wheel alignment is mandatory following installation to prevent "tire scrubbing" and ensure vehicle safety.
Torque Under Load: Do not perform the final tightening of the mounting bolts while the vehicle is on jack stands with the wheels hanging. Instead, lower the vehicle to the ground or use a ramp so the suspension is under its own weight (ride height) before torquing the bolts. This prevents the bushings from "clocking" or pre-loading, which causes them to tear prematurely.
Hardware Preparation: Because these components are located in high-moisture areas, mounting bolts are frequently seized. Apply a penetrating lubricant to all fasteners 24 hours prior to the job. If a bolt is seized inside the old bushing sleeve, it may need to be cut out and replaced with a new Grade 8 or higher fastener.
Bushing Inspection: While replacing these forward arms, inspect the rearward lateral links and the trailing arms. If one set of bushings has failed, the others are likely in a similar condition and should be replaced to ensure total suspension integrity.
