Installation and Technical Tips
The "Ride Height" Rule: To prevent premature bushing failure, do not perform the final torque on the mounting bolts while the vehicle is on jack stands. Support the suspension with a floor jack to simulate "ride height" (the full weight of the vehicle) before tightening. Tightening the bolts while the suspension is "hanging" will twist the rubber bushings at an unnatural angle, causing them to tear shortly after installation.
Mandatory Alignment: Replacing any rear control arm alters your vehicle's toe and camber settings. A professional four-wheel alignment is mandatory immediately following installation to prevent rapid tire scrubbing and ensure the vehicle tracks straight at highway speeds.
Hardware Inspection: In "salt belt" regions, rear suspension bolts are prone to seizing inside the bushing sleeves. It is highly recommended to have replacement Grade 10.9 mounting bolts available before beginning the installation.
Component Synergy: While the wheel is removed, inspect the Rear Upper Control Arm (Camber Arm) and the Forward Lower Arm. If one bushing is rotted, the others are likely in a similar condition; replacing them as a set will yield the best handling results.
