Installation and Technical Tips
Use Flare Nut Wrenches: When disconnecting the old hose from the steel hard lines, always use a flare nut (line) wrench. Standard open-end wrenches often round off the soft fittings, especially if they have any rust or corrosion.
Bleeding the System: This is a hydraulic component. Once installed, you must bleed the entire brake system to remove air pockets. Start with the wheel furthest from the master cylinder (Rear Passenger side) and work your way forward.
Inspect the Breather Bolt: The rear center hose on many Ranger and B-Series models often secures to the axle via a hollow breather bolt. Ensure this bolt is clean and the passage is clear to prevent internal pressure buildup in the rear differential.
Suspension Clearance: After installation, check that the hose is not kinked and has enough slack to accommodate full suspension travel (compression and extension). This prevents the hose from being pulled or damaged while driving over uneven terrain.
