Installation and Technical Tips
Clean the Friction Surface: These rotors are shipped with a protective oil coating to prevent rust during storage. Use a high-quality brake cleaner to thoroughly degrease both sides of the rotor before installation to ensure immediate braking performance.
Parking Brake Service: Since this is a Drum-In-Hat design, take the opportunity to inspect your internal parking brake shoes. If they are worn or contaminated with oil, they should be replaced alongside the rotors. Remember to retract the adjuster star-wheel through the lug hole to ease rotor removal.
Hub Prep: Use a wire brush or drill attachment to remove all surface rust and debris from the wheel hub. Even a 0.001-inch piece of grit can cause lateral runout, leading to pedal pulsation and premature rotor wear.
