Installation and Technical Tips
Work on a Cold Engine: Never open the cooling system or remove reservoir hoses while the engine is hot. Pressurized steam and scalding coolant can cause serious injury.
Hose Inspection: When swapping the reservoir, inspect the overflow and return hoses for brittleness or internal clogs. A blocked hose can prevent the radiator from "sucking" coolant back in, leading to a low radiator level despite a full reservoir.
Refill with Proper Fluid: Lexus vehicles typically require Toyota Super Long Life Coolant (Pink).
Avoid mixing different colors or types of antifreeze, as this can lead to coagulation and damage the internal passages of the radiator and heater core.
