Engine Coolant Overflow Reservoir

High-Performance Expansion Tank for 2000–2004 Toyota Avalon

Maintain the health of your engine and prevent overheating with this premium Radiator Coolant Reservoir. Specifically engineered for the second-generation Toyota Avalon, this tank serves as the critical expansion chamber for your vehicle's cooling system. It captures pressurized coolant as it expands from engine heat and returns it to the radiator as the system cools, ensuring a consistent fluid level and preventing air pockets that can lead to catastrophic engine damage.

Fabricated from high-density, heat-stabilized polymer, this reservoir is designed to withstand the intense thermal cycling of the engine bay. Unlike older units that can become brittle, yellowed, or prone to hairline fractures, this new assembly features a translucent finish for quick fluid level inspections and a reinforced mounting structure for a secure, vibration-resistant fit.

Fitment Verification and Vehicle Applications

This reservoir is a direct-fit replacement for the following vehicle:

  • Toyota Avalon (All Trims): 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004.

  • Engine Compatibility: Specifically designed for the 3.0L V6 engine configuration.

Installation and Technical Tips

  • Pressure Safety: Always perform cooling system maintenance when the engine is completely cold. Opening or removing components from a hot pressurized system can cause severe injury.

  • Hose Integrity: Inspect the overflow hose that connects the radiator neck to the reservoir. If this hose is clogged or cracked, the vacuum-draw system will fail, and the radiator will not be able to pull coolant back from the tank, leading to a low-radiator condition despite the tank being full.

  • Proper Fluid Mix: When refilling the new reservoir, use a 50/50 mixture of distilled water and the Toyota-specified coolant. Do not fill past the "Full" line; the empty space at the top is required for the air-to-liquid expansion process.

  • Debris Prevention: Ensure the mounting area is clear of old plastic shards or debris from the previous failed tank. A clean mounting surface prevents stress points on the new plastic housing.
