Installation and Technical Tips
Sensor Transfer: When moving the power steering pressure switch from your old hose to the new one, inspect the sensor for oil residue in the connector, which may indicate an internal switch leak.
Seal Integrity: Use the new copper washers provided for the banjo bolt fitting at the pump. Even a minor scratch on an old washer can lead to a high-pressure spray that compromises the system.
Proper Routing: Utilize all included mounting brackets to secure the hose away from the exhaust manifold and moving suspension parts. Heat is the primary cause of premature rubber degradation in these lines.
Bleeding Procedure: After installation, fill the system with the specified fluid. With the front wheels off the ground, turn the steering wheel lock-to-lock at least 20 times to purge air. This prevents pump cavitation and the "whining" noise often mistaken for a bad pump.
