Installation and Technical Tips
Alignment Required: Replacing tie rod ends directly impacts your vehicle's toe-in/toe-out settings. A professional wheel alignment is mandatory after installation to ensure even tire wear and proper steering returnability.
Installation Measurement: To maintain a driveable alignment for the trip to the shop, measure the distance from a fixed point on the inner tie rod to the center of the old tie rod stud before removal. Match this distance exactly when threading on the new units.
Wrench Flats: Utilize the integrated wrench flats on the tie rod body to hold the unit steady while tightening the jam nut. This prevents the inner tie rod from twisting and potentially damaging the steering rack bellows.
Hardware Replacement: Always use the new mounting hardware provided in the kit. If your vehicle uses a castle nut and cotter pin design, ensure the pin is properly bent to lock the nut in place against vibration.
