Installation and Technical Tips

• Battery Preparation: Always disconnect the negative battery cable before installation. A short circuit during the B+ cable transfer can blow the main fusible link or damage the vehicle's computer.

• The "Full Charge" Requirement: Do not use the new alternator to charge a deeply discharged or dead battery. Forcing a new alternator to charge a flat battery can burn out the internal diodes and void the warranty. Always use a dedicated charger to bring your battery to at least 12.6V before starting the vehicle.

• Clutch Pulley Function: This alternator includes a decoupled pulley. This is a one-way clutch that allows the alternator to "freewheel" when engine RPM drops suddenly, preventing belt squeal and reducing stress on the belt tensioner. Ensure your new belt is properly aligned to prevent premature pulley wear.

• Terminal Cleaning: Inspect the ring terminal on your B+ cable. If there is green corrosion or dark heat staining, clean it with a wire brush or replace the terminal to ensure proper current flow and prevent overheating at the post.
