Installation and Safety Guidelines
Removal: Adjust the mirror glass as far inward as possible. Carefully insert a plastic pry tool behind the glass and apply gentle outward pressure to pop the old backing plate off the motor circular actuator.
Heating Leads: There are two electrical wires for the heated glass. Before snapping the new glass in, slide these onto the terminals on the back of the new plate. The polarity is reversible; the wires can go on either terminal.
Installation: Align the circular snap-rings on the new backing plate with the motor actuator in the housing. Press firmly in the center of the glass until you hear a click. Avoid pressing on the corners of the glass to prevent cracking.
Testing: Once installed, turn on the vehicle's defrost system to verify the glass warms up. Use the power mirror switch to ensure the glass moves freely through its full range of motion without binding.
