Installation and Technical Tips

• No-Tool Removal: Most Volkswagen side repeaters can be removed without metal tools. Gently push the light assembly toward the front of the car to compress the internal spring clip, then pull the rear edge outward. Using a metal screwdriver can easily chip the paint on your fender.

• Amber Bulbs Required: When switching from an amber lens to a clear lens, ensure you use an Amber-colored bulb (usually 2825 or 194NA) to remain compliant with local safety regulations requiring side signals to emit amber light.

• Socket Maintenance: Check the rubber O-ring on your factory bulb socket before twisting it into the new housing. If the O-ring is flattened or cracked, moisture will enter the new light. A small dab of silicone lubricant on the O-ring will help create a perfect seal.

• Wiring Check: If your original lights were not working, inspect the wiring behind the fender for corrosion. These lights are in a high-moisture area behind the wheel well, and "green crust" on the terminals is common. Clean the terminals before plugging in the new units.
