Installation and Technical Tips
Simple Hand-Tool Install: This assembly can typically be replaced using only a Phillips head screwdriver or a 10mm socket. The mounting screws are located on the interior edge of the door jamb.
Socket Inspection: When transferring your existing wiring harness, inspect the bulb sockets for signs of heat damage or brown discoloration. If the sockets are brittle or the contacts are corroded, it is the ideal time to replace them to ensure consistent electrical connectivity.
O-Ring Seal: Ensure the rubber O-rings on your bulb sockets are properly seated when twisting them into the new housing. This is critical to prevent moisture and condensation from building up inside the lens.
Check Your Bulbs: Before fully securing the new light, have an assistant test the brake, turn, and reverse lights. Replacing standard 3157 bulbs while the housing is already removed is a cost-effective preventative measure.
