Installation and Technical Tips
Diagnostic Verification: Before replacing the fan, check the cooling fan relay and the specific fuse in the engine compartment fuse block. If the fan fails to engage when the engine reaches operating temperature or when the A/C is turned on, the motor may have failed.
Wire Routing: When installing the new assembly, ensure the wiring harness is properly secured into the built-in clips on the fan shroud. This prevents the harness from contacting the hot radiator surface or moving fan blades.
Bolt Torque: Use hand tools to secure the mounting bolts into the radiator. Over-tightening can crack the plastic mounting tabs on either the new fan shroud or the radiator tank.
System Purge: While working in the cooling system area, inspect your coolant levels and the condition of the radiator hoses. If you notice any signs of leaks or "crusty" residue at the hose connections, it may be time for a system flush or hose replacement.
