Installation and Technical Tips
Body Style Match: Always confirm your Yaris is a Hatchback before purchase. The Sedan and Hatchback mirrors look similar but have different mounting "feet" and will not seal correctly if swapped.
Painting Preparation: If you choose to paint the cover, use a plastic-adhesion promoter before applying your base coat and clear coat. This prevents the paint from chipping or peeling over time. It is easiest to paint the cover while it is detached from the mirror housing.
Panel Removal: To access the three mounting bolts and the 3-pin electrical connector, you will need to remove the interior door panel. Using a dedicated plastic trim tool will help prevent damage to the delicate door clips.
Connector Verification: Before bolting the new mirror into place, plug in the 3-pin harness and test the electric adjustment switch. Ensure the glass moves in all four directions to verify the internal motors are functioning properly.
