Installation and Technical Tips
Diagnostic Check: Before installing the new module, inspect the blower motor's physical condition. A motor that is difficult to turn by hand or makes a grinding noise will draw excessive current, which is the primary cause of module failure. Replacing a module without addressing a failing motor may cause the new part to fail prematurely.
Connector Inspection: Always check the wiring harness plug for signs of heat damage, melting, or corrosion. If the plastic connector is discolored or the pins are loose, the pigtail harness should be replaced at the same time to ensure a solid electrical connection.
Mounting Security: Ensure the module is securely bolted into its housing. The aluminum fins must be positioned directly in the airflow of the HVAC ducting to prevent the solid-state electronics from overheating during operation.
Power Reset: After installation, it may be helpful to cycle the ignition and allow the Climate Control head to recalibrate its "homing" positions for the blend doors and fan speed settings.
