This fuel tank filler neck is a precision-engineered replacement for the corroded or leaking factory pipe on your GM SUV. Manufactured from high-grade steel with a corrosion-resistant black coating, this assembly is designed to withstand harsh road conditions and fuel vapors. A failing filler neck is a common cause of "Check Engine" lights related to the EVAP system (such as P0440 or P0442 codes) and fuel odors near the rear of the vehicle. Installation and Safety Guidelines
Hardware Note:Â Mounting hardware, clamps, and the fuel cap are not included. We recommend using new stainless steel worm-gear clamps to ensure a tight seal at the tank transition.
EVAP System Check: After installation, it may take several drive cycles for the vehicle’s computer to clear any previous EVAP-related trouble codes. Ensure the fuel cap is tightened until it clicks to maintain a proper vacuum seal.
Safety First:Â Fuel system repairs should be performed in a well-ventilated area away from open flames or sparks. It is highly recommended to perform this replacement when the fuel tank is less than a quarter full.
Hose Inspection:Â While this unit includes the main connecting hose, inspect the rubber vent lines on your vehicle. If they are cracked or dry-rotted, they should be replaced simultaneously to prevent vacuum leaks.
