Installation and Technical Tips
Proper Torque is Vital: The axle nut provides the necessary preload for the bearing. It is essential to use a calibrated torque wrench to tighten the nut to the manufacturer’s specific foot-pound rating. An improperly torqued axle nut is the most common cause of premature hub failure.
Spline Preparation: Before installing the new hub, clean the CV axle splines with a wire brush to remove rust and old grease. Applying a light coat of high-temperature anti-seize to the splines will ensure a smooth installation and prevent the axle from seizing in the future.
Sensor Care: During installation, ensure the ABS sensor wire is routed exactly like the original to avoid contact with moving suspension parts or hot brake components. Use the factory clips to secure the harness.
Clean the Mounting Face: Use a wire brush to clean the mounting surface on the steering knuckle. Any rust or debris trapped between the knuckle and the new hub can cause the wheel to sit unevenly, leading to brake pulsation and steering vibration.
