Installation and Technical Tips

• Panel Protection: Use a plastic pry tool to remove the switch bezel. Metal screwdrivers often gouge the plastic door panel or chip the paint on the bezel.

• Harness Check: While the switch is removed, inspect the wiring harness for pinched wires or moisture damage. Corroded pins in the harness can cause a brand-new switch to function intermittently or fail prematurely.

• The Lockout Factor: If your new passenger switch does not work, verify that the Window Lockout Switch on the driver's side master panel is not engaged. The passenger switch receives its ground or power signal through the driver's side circuit; if the master switch is faulty, the passenger side may remain inoperative.

• Secure Seating: Ensure the switch "clicks" firmly into the door bezel and the wiring harness is fully seated. A loose connection can cause arcing, which melts the plastic housing and damages the new internal contacts.
