Installation and Technical Tips

• Degrease Friction Surfaces: These rotors are shipped with a thin protective oil coating to prevent oxidation. Failure to remove this oil can lead to pad contamination and smoke during the initial drive.

• Clean the Hub Interface: Use a wire brush or hub cleaning tool to remove rust and scale from the wheel hub surface. Even a small amount of debris can cause the rotor to sit unevenly, resulting in lateral runout and annoying pedal pulsation.

• Caliper Slide Lubrication: While the brakes are disassembled, remove the caliper slide pins, clean them, and apply a fresh coat of high-temperature silicone-based brake grease. Seized pins are the leading cause of uneven pad wear and sticking brakes on these models.

• Bedding Procedure: To ensure a long service life and noise-free operation, perform a series of 5 to 10 moderate stops from 40 mph down to 10 mph. Allow the brakes to cool briefly between stops. This process seasons the rotors and creates a uniform transfer layer of friction material.
