Installation and Technical Tips
Proper Torque Sequence: To avoid premature bushing failure, do not fully tighten the control arm mounting bolts while the vehicle is on jack stands. Lower the vehicle onto its own weight (at ride height) before performing the final torque to prevent the rubber bushings from binding and tearing.
Knuckle Cleaning: Before installing the new ball joints, use a wire brush or emery cloth to clean the receiver hole in the steering knuckle. Debris or rust in this area can prevent the ball joint from seating correctly, leading to vibrations or loosened hardware.
Hardware Safety: Always use the new cotter pins and locking nuts provided in the kit. Reusing old, stressed hardware on critical suspension components can lead to catastrophic failure.
Mandatory Alignment: Any service involving the replacement of control arms or ball joints significantly alters the vehicle's camber and toe settings. A professional four-wheel alignment is required immediately after installation to ensure safe handling and even tire wear.
