Installation and Technical Tips

• Proper Torque is Critical: When installing the axle nut, do not use an impact wrench for final tightening. Excessive force can crush the internal bearing races, leading to immediate failure. Use a calibrated torque wrench to meet the factory specification (typically 125 lb-ft plus a 45-degree turn).

• Clean the Knuckle: Before mounting the new hub, use a wire brush to remove all rust and debris from the steering knuckle’s bore. A small amount of anti-seize applied to the flange-to-knuckle mating surface will prevent future corrosion and make any subsequent removals much easier.

• ABS Component Handling: Since this unit does not include the ABS sensor, take care when removing and re-installing your existing sensor. Ensure the magnetic ring area on the back of the hub is clean; any metal shavings or grease on the magnetic surface can cause traction control or ABS error codes.

• Check the Axle Nut: Most manufacturers recommend replacing the axle nut with a new one every time the hub is removed. A used nut may not retain the proper locking tension, risking the security of the entire assembly.
