Installation and Technical Tips

• The "Count the Turns" Method: When removing the old outer tie rod ends, count the exact number of full rotations required to unscrew them from the inner rods. Thread the new ends on using the same number of turns to keep your alignment as close as possible for the drive to the alignment shop.

• Steering Rack Bellows: While the inner tie rods are removed, inspect the rubber bellows (boots) on your steering rack. If they are torn, road grit will quickly destroy the rack's internal seals. We highly recommend replacing these boots if they show any signs of cracking.

• Torque to Specification: Always use a torque wrench to secure the outer tie rod end to the steering knuckle. Over-tightening can stress the ball joint stud, while under-tightening can lead to dangerous steering play.

• Mandatory Alignment: Any service involving the replacement of tie rod ends fundamentally alters the vehicle's toe setting. A professional four-wheel alignment is mandatory immediately following installation to prevent rapid tire scrubbing and ensure your steering wheel is perfectly centered.
