Installation and Maintenance Notes
Driveline Balance: Before removing your driveshaft, mark the position of the shaft relative to the yoke. Reinstalling the assembly in the same orientation helps prevent high-speed vibrations.
Seating the Joint: Ensure the internal splines on the driveshaft are thoroughly cleaned and inspected for damage before pressing the new joint into place.
Clamp Tension: Proper tensioning of the boot clamps is critical. If the clamps are too loose, grease will spin out under centrifugal force; if too tight, the boot may tear prematurely.
Inspection: While the driveshaft is removed, inspect the U-joint at the opposite end of the shaft for play or "notchy" movement. If it shows signs of wear, it is recommended to replace it simultaneously.
