Installation and Technical Tips

• Hub Nut Torque: Proper installation is critical for the longevity of your wheel bearings. Use a calibrated torque wrench to tighten the axle nut to the manufacturer’s specification (typically 185 ft-lbs for this application). Under-tightening can cause the bearing to separate, while over-tightening can cause premature bearing failure.

• Differential Seal Replacement: It is highly recommended to replace the front differential output seals whenever the CV axles are removed. Reinstalling axles into old, hardened seals often results in fluid leaks shortly after the repair.

• Snap-Ring Verification: When seating the inboard end of the axle into the differential, ensure the internal snap-ring has fully engaged. You should feel a distinct "click" when the axle is properly locked into the side gear.

• Check for Suspension Interference: If your truck features a leveling kit or suspension lift, manually cycle the steering from lock to lock after installation to ensure the CV boots do not contact any suspension components.
