Installation and Technical Tips

• Caliper Pin Maintenance: Since these pads are for fixed 4-piston calipers, they are held in by two guide pins and a spring clip. Thoroughly clean these pins with brake cleaner and a Scotch-Brite pad to remove any corrosion before reinstallation. Apply a thin coat of the included lubricant to the pins to ensure smooth pad movement.

• Electronic Wear Sensor: This set is prepared for, but does not include, the electronic wear sensor. If your "Check Brake Pads" light is currently on, you must purchase a new sensor, as the old one is "tripped" and cannot be reused.

• Piston Retraction: When pushing the pistons back into the caliper to clear the new, thicker pads, ensure you monitor the brake fluid reservoir. If fluid was topped off as the old pads wore down, it may overflow as you compress the four pistons.

• Bedding-In Procedure: For optimal performance, perform 8 to 10 moderate stops from 40 mph down to 10 mph in rapid succession. This "sears" the pads and transfers a uniform friction layer to the rotors, preventing future squealing.
