Installation and Technical Tips

• Hub Surface Preparation: The Pontiac G8 platform is highly sensitive to lateral run-out. Use a wire brush or hub cleaning tool to remove all rust and debris from the face of the wheel hub. Even a thin layer of scale can cause the rotor to sit unevenly, resulting in a vibration that mimics a warped rotor.

• Caliper Slide Lubrication: Ensure your caliper slide pins are cleaned and lubricated with high-temperature silicone brake grease. Seized or sluggish pins will cause uneven pad pressure, leading to "hot spots" on your new performance rotors.

• The Bedding-In Process: To properly "mate" the pads to the new drilled and slotted surfaces, perform 5 to 10 moderate stops from 40 mph to 10 mph. Avoid coming to a full stop during this cycle to prevent pad material from imprinting unevenly on the hot rotor.
