Installation and Technical Tips

• Diagnostic Check: Verify your error code before installation. Common codes for this position include P242A (Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor Circuit Bank 1 Sensor 3) or related thermal range faults.

• Thread Preparation: Exhaust bungs are prone to extreme rust and soot accumulation. Use a dedicated thread chaser (M12x1.25 or as specified) to clean the exhaust pipe threads before installing the new sensor to prevent cross-threading.

• Anti-Seize Application: Apply a small amount of high-temperature copper anti-seize to the sensor threads. This prevents the sensor from "galling" or welding itself to the exhaust pipe, making future replacements significantly easier.
