Installation and Technical Tips

  • Surface Preparation: Before installing the new assembly, ensure the mating surface on the engine block is perfectly clean. Use a plastic scraper or a lint-free cloth with brake cleaner to remove any residual scale or old gasket material; avoid using metal scrapers on aluminum surfaces.

  • Coolant Specification: Audi vehicles require G12 or G13 (Pink/Violet) Organic Acid Technology (OAT) coolant. Never mix this with standard "universal" green coolant, as it can cause chemical reactions that lead to sludge buildup and heater core failure.

  • Air Bleeding Procedure: The 3.2L V6 is prone to air pockets. After installation, locate the bleeder screw on the coolant pipe (usually near the firewall or intake) and follow the factory procedure to release trapped air while the engine reaches operating temperature.
