Installation and Technical Tips

• Safety Protocol: Always disconnect the negative battery cable before opening the fuel system. Relieve fuel pressure via the Schrader valve on the fuel rail before disconnecting the quick-connect lines at the tank.

• Debris Prevention: Before removing the old lock ring, clean the top of the fuel tank thoroughly. Dirt or sand falling into the tank can damage the new pump's internal turbine and clog the strainer instantly.

• Wiring Inspection: This kit includes a new wiring harness. If your original vehicle-side connector shows signs of melting or heat discoloration (common on these models), it is essential to splice in the new harness to prevent the new pump from burning out.

• Seal Seating: Use the new lock ring and gasket included in the box. Applying a light film of clean fuel or specialized lubricant to the gasket can help it seat perfectly, preventing EVAP system "Small Leak" codes (such as P0442 or P0455).
