Installation and Maintenance Tips

• Seal Lubrication: Before installation, apply a thin layer of clean oil to the rubber gasket. This ensures the gasket slides smoothly against the mounting base and prevents leaks caused by a bunched or pinched seal.

• Correct Torque: Tighten the filter by hand until the gasket makes contact with the engine block, then turn it an additional 3/4 to 1 full turn. Do not over-tighten with a wrench, as this can crush the gasket or strip the threads.

• Production Date Check: For 2015 Dodge Charger and Durango 5.7L models, verify your vehicle was built To 10/15/14. Vehicles built after this date may require a different filter.

• Monitor Oil Pressure: After the oil change, start the engine and ensure the oil pressure light turns off within a few seconds. Check for any weeping around the filter base before completing the service.
