Installation and Technical Tips

• Surface Preparation: Success depends on a clean mounting surface. Use a dedicated weatherstrip adhesive remover to strip away all old glue and rubber fragments. Follow up with a wax and grease remover to ensure the metal channel is perfectly clean.

• Adhesive Application: Use a high-quality black weatherstrip adhesive for a professional finish. Apply a thin bead to both the rubber seal and the body channel. Allow the adhesive to become tacky (usually 2-4 minutes) before pressing the seal into place to prevent sliding.

• Start at the Top: Begin installation at the top corners or the molded sections designated by the factory layout. This ensures the rest of the seal length is distributed evenly around the door frame without stretching the rubber too thin.

• The Compression Period: Once installed, close the doors and leave them shut for at least 48 hours. New seals are significantly thicker than worn originals; this period allows the EPDM rubber to "take a set" and conform to the shape of your door, ensuring a leak-free fit and easier door operation over time.
