Installation and Technical Tips

• Surface Preparation: The success of your installation depends on a clean surface. Completely remove all old adhesive and rubber remnants from the door channel using a plastic scraper and a specialized weatherstrip adhesive remover.

• Adhesive Selection: For the most secure bond, use a high-quality black super weatherstrip adhesive. Apply a thin, consistent bead to both the rubber seal and the metal channel. Wait for the adhesive to become tacky (typically 2–3 minutes) before pressing the seal into place.

• The "Compression" Period: New weatherstripping is thicker than the old, flattened seals you are replacing. After installation, the doors may require more force to close. Leave the doors closed for 48 to 72 hours to allow the rubber to conform to the door's shape; this will make the doors easier to close over time.

• Corner Seating: Always start your installation at the corners and work toward the center of the straight runs. This ensures the molded corners are perfectly seated without the rubber being stretched too thin or bunched up.
