Installation and Technical Tips

• Transmission Seal Replacement: When removing the old axles, the inner splines slide through the transmission output seals. These seals are easily nicked and often leak after a high-mileage axle swap. It is highly recommended to install new Transmission Output Shaft Seals while the axles are removed.

• Ensure Positive Engagement: When inserting the new axle into the transmission, you should hear or feel a "click" as the internal circlip snaps into the side gear. After installation, give the inner "tulip" housing a firm pull outward; if it moves, the clip is not seated, which can cause fluid leaks or transmission damage.

• Torque to Specification: Always use a calibrated torque wrench for the 30mm axle nut. Avoid using an impact wrench for the final tightening, as excessive vibration can damage the internal wheel bearing or crush the CV joint's internal shoulder.

• Fluid Level Check: Be prepared for a small amount of transmission fluid to drain when the inner joints are removed. Ensure you have a drain pan ready and check your transmission fluid levels via the dipstick or fill plug after the job is complete.
