Installation and Technical Tips
Electrical Inspection: Before installing the new unit, inspect the vehicle-side wiring harness for signs of melting or corrosion. A seized fan motor often draws excessive amperage, which can damage the connector or the A/C fan relay.
Seating the Shroud: Ensure the lower mounting feet of the shroud are fully engaged in the radiator support brackets before tightening the upper bolts. Improper seating can lead to excessive vibration and potential damage to the condenser core.
Blade Clearance: After installation but before starting the engine, manually spin the fan blade to ensure it clears the shroud and the condenser. This prevents "blade strike" which can shatter the plastic components upon initial startup.
Functional Test: Once installed, start the engine and engage the A/C system. The condenser fan should activate almost immediately to manage head pressure in the AC system. If it does not, check the 15A or 20A cooling fan fuse in the under-hood fuse block.
