Installation and Technical Tips
Ride Height Final Torque: When installing the rear upper control arms, do not perform the final tightening of the bushing bolts while the vehicle is on jack stands. The suspension must be under the vehicle's full weight (at "curb height") before torquing to prevent the rubber bushings from twisting and tearing prematurely.
Mandatory Alignment: Any time control arms are replaced, the vehicle's alignment geometry is altered. A professional four-wheel alignment is required immediately following installation to prevent rapid tire wear and ensure predictable handling.
Sway Bar Link Orientation: Note the orientation of the sway bar links during removal. While they appear symmetrical, installing them in the correct direction ensures they have the necessary clearance to pivot through the full range of suspension travel without binding.
Hardware Inspection: Inspect your existing mounting bolts for heavy corrosion or rounded heads. In rust-prone areas, it is often safer to have replacement grade-10.9 bolts on hand, as suspension hardware is frequently seized and may require heat for removal.
