Installation and Technical Tips

  • Safety First: To prevent the rear axle from rotating or shifting, replace only one control arm at a time. This ensures the axle remains in its factory position, making the bolt-hole alignment for the new arms significantly easier.

  • Critical Torque Note: Do not fully tighten the control arm bolts while the vehicle is in the air. Lower the vehicle onto its own weight (ride height) before performing the final torque. Tightening while the suspension is hanging can "bind" the rubber bushings, causing them to tear prematurely.

  • Hardware Preparation: Inspect your factory mounting bolts for excessive rust. If they are in good condition, clean the threads and apply a light coat of anti-seize. If they are severely pitted or corroded, replace them with new Grade 10.9 hardware.

  • Final Inspection: After 500 miles of driving, perform a visual inspection to ensure all mounting bolts remain tight and the bushings are seated correctly.
