Installation and Technical Tips

• Hydraulic Press Required: These bearings are press-fit components. You must use a hydraulic shop press to seat the bearing into the steering knuckle and the hub into the bearing. Using a hammer or impact tools will damage the precision races and cause immediate part failure.

• Seal Lubrication: Before installation, apply a thin film of high-temperature wheel bearing grease to the lips of the inner and outer seals. This ensures a proper seal against the axle and prevents the rubber from tearing during the initial rotation.

• Torque Specifications: The axle nut is the primary component holding this assembly together. It must be torqued to the manufacturer’s exact specification using a calibrated torque wrench. An improperly torqued nut is the leading cause of premature bearing failure.

• Clean the Knuckle: Use a wire brush to thoroughly clean the inside of the steering knuckle. Any rust or debris trapped between the bearing and the knuckle can cause misalignment, leading to vibrations and uneven wear.
