Installation and Technical Tips

  • Diagnostic Check: If a window fails to move, try operating it from both the master (driver) switch and the individual door switch. If it works from the master but not the door, this switch is likely the culprit. If it works from neither, you may have a failed window motor or a broken wire in the door jamb.

  • Panel Protection: Use a plastic trim removal tool to pop the switch out of the bezel. Using a metal screwdriver can easily mar the soft plastic trim or tear the vinyl of the door panel.

  • Connector Cleaning: Before plugging in the new switch, inspect the factory wiring harness for green corrosion or melted plastic. Use an electrical contact cleaner to ensure the best possible connection.

  • Directional Check: If your lock or window operates "backwards" (down when you press up), simply rotate the switch 180 degrees in the housing before snapping it back into the door panel.
